About the Cyprus citizenship by investment program

The Cyprus Citizenship by Investment program, organized by the government of Cyprus since 2016, allows investors and their families from outside the European Union (EU) to obtain Cypriot citizenship and become EU citizens.

With an investment ranging to 2,000,000 EUR in real estate, one can acquire Cypriot citizenship and enjoy the benefits of being an EU citizen. Even if you do not wish to reside in Cyprus, you can still freely travel within the EU.

Requirements for eligibility for Cypriot citizenship

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old, in good health, and have a clean criminal record.
  • The Cyprus Citizenship by Investment program is only available to citizens of third countries.
  • Applicants need to submit biometric fingerprint data during their travel or investment participation.
  • Investors must provide complete documentation proving their income and financial resources.
  • Dependents in the investor's family aged 18-28 must be enrolled in higher education institutions and have proof of financial support.
  • The investor's parents must have their own residence and possess assets worth at least 500,000 EUR.

Cypriot citizenship through investment options

For Investors:

  • Must be at least 18 years old, in good health, and have a clean criminal record.
  • Provide complete documentation proving the source and cleanliness of investment funds.
  • Visit Cyprus twice a year and have health insurance.
  • Investors are not required to reside in Cyprus before applying for citizenship but must hold a residence permit for 6 months to complete the application.

For Dependents:

  • Spouse, children, and parents of the investor must meet health and background check criteria.
  • Dependent children must be under 28 years old and unmarried.

Investment Requirements:

  • Purchase real estate with a minimum value of 2 million Euros (approximately 54 billion VND) and maintain it for 5 years.
  • Investors can choose to purchase a single property or multiple properties with a total minimum value of 2 million Euros.
  • After 5 years, investors must maintain ownership of real estate with a value of at least 500,000 Euros.
  • If the investor wishes to include their parents (or spouse's parents), an additional investment of at least 500,000 Euros in real estate is required.
  • Contribute 100,000 Euros to the Cyprus government's Research and Development Fund and 100,000 Euros to the Cyprus Land Development Organization.
  • The total investment required is 2.2 million Euros for real estate and contributions.
